I recently had the chance to visit the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel, they’re one of our preferred travel partners at Strong Travel, and within the Virtuoso network. Andrew had already planned a super dudes’ weekend to Colorado (complete with downhill mountain biking, baseball games, white water rafting, the works), so I decided to heat out to Laguna Niguel/Laguna Beach area with my friend Carla who lives in Santa Monica. We’d stay at the Ritz-Carton Laguna Niguel for the weekend, and we’d check out Festival of the Arts/Pageant of the Masters.

When we arrived, we made a bee line to Raya, their oceanview restaurant with all day dining featuring Pan-Latin coastal cuisine, and a spectacular view. I opted for their Grilled Ahi Tuna Torta made with a chile rub, guacamole, fantastic truffled greens, tomatoes, pickled onions, and lemon–it was heavenly and ate every single bit of it. For dessert I had their coconut sorbet that I absolutely fell in love with, and vowed to eat it every day while there! The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel has various other dining options, such as Enosteak, an intimate steakhouse featuring only the highest quality ingredients. All the steaks are prime, pasture-raised beef, and the organic produce is grown locally and harvested at the peak of the season. enoSTEAK also highlights artisanal cheeses, charcuterie and unique, fine wines. The other dining option is 180Blu, an outdoor oceanfront lounge featuring panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. It’s set above Salt Creek Beach, and is a great place to enjoy refreshing hand-crafted beverages and small plates from Raya for happy hour. They also have the Marketplace which is a great place to get a quick bite to eat as well as refreshments and coffee.

The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel has a variety of resort amenities and activities that include a fabulous spa, an incredible ocean-front fitness center (complete with a full array of fitness machines and equipment), wellness classes every morning that include yoga and pilates at the Ocean Front Gazebo, two tennis courts, and two outdoor swimming pools and two outdoor whirlpools. The big pool is usually taken over by families with children, so the smaller pool in the courtyard is typically where the “adults” hang out.
